About Weingut Ehrlenbach
Weingut Ehrlenbach is a young estate in Reicholzheim (Wertheim), in the Tauberfranken district of Baden, run by brothers Florian and Philipp Ehrlenbach. The brothers decided to found their own winery in 2017 and released their first vintage in 2020, farming around 4.2 hectares on limestone and sandstone soils along the Tauber valley. The focus is on Burgundy varieties — Chardonnay, Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) and Schwarzriesling (Pinot Meunier) — alongside Müller-Thurgau, Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder and Silvaner. Farming has been organic in practice since the estate's founding, with formal EU organic conversion begun in 2022; wines are spontaneously fermented and bottled with minimal intervention. Florian Ehrlenbach trained at the renowned Weingut Rudolf Fürst in Bürgstadt under winemaker Sebastian Fürst, and also gained experience at Manincor (Alto Adige) and Giant Steps (Australia). The estate was named 'Entdeckung des Jahres' (Discovery of the Year) for the Baden region in the Vinum Weinguide Deutschland 2024.
