About Weingut Dr. Corvers-Kauter
Weingut Dr. Corvers-Kauter is a family-run estate in Oestrich-Winkel, Rheingau, formed in 1996 through the merger of two historic family vineyards each with roughly 250 years of winemaking tradition. Run by Dr. Matthias Corvers, who holds a doctorate in organic viticulture, together with his wife Brigitte Corvers-Kauter, the estate has been certified organic (DE-ÖKO-006) since 2012 and farms more than 30 hectares across premium Rheingau sites, including VDP-classified vineyards such as Rüdesheimer Berg Rottland, Rüdesheimer Berg Schlossberg and Oestricher Lenchen, though the estate itself is not a VDP member. Riesling and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) form the core of production, alongside a rare specialty: Roter Riesling, an ancient autochthonous variety supported by Slow Food. Since 2015 select wines have been pressed using a traditional basket press to achieve greater elegance. The range spans everyday BASIS wines through KLASSIKER, CHARAKTERKÖPFE (noble sweet specialties) and GROSSE BERGWEINE, alongside the R3 concept wine, whose name reflects a three-part philosophy of space, time and energy. In Vinum's Weinguide 2026, the estate received 4.5 stars, placing it among the Rheingau's leading producers alongside names such as Eva Fricke, Georg Breuer and Peter Jakob Kühn.
Who Is This For?
