About Weingut Beurer
Weingut Beurer is a family estate in Kernen-Stetten in the Remstal, Württemberg, founded in 1997 by Jochen Beurer together with his father Siegfried and wife Marion as a small 'garage winery'. The estate converted to organic viticulture in 2004 and has been certified biodynamic by Demeter since 2012 (member of ECOVIN and, since 2013, of the VDP). Around 60-65% of the roughly 10-15 hectare estate is planted to Riesling, grown on the region's characteristic Keuper (sandstone/marl) soils, alongside Spätburgunder, Sauvignon Blanc, Lemberger and other local varieties. Jochen Beurer, a former European BMX champion and Mountainbike World Cup competitor before turning to winemaking, is known for a minimal-intervention, 'controlled idleness' philosophy in both vineyard and cellar. His son Adrian has since joined the estate.
Who Is This For?
