Viberti Giovanni

ヴィベルティ・ジョヴァンニ

Crafting elegant Barolo with a focus on the prestigious Monvigliero cru.

Founded in 1923 by Cavalier Antonio Viberti, who began making wine in the basement of his inn (Locanda del Buon Padre) in the hamlet of Vergne, a fraction of the Barolo commune. In 1967 Antonio's son Giovanni joined the estate and drove its evolution into a Barolo specialist, and the family winery is now based on Via delle Viole in Vergne-Barolo. Viberti is particularly celebrated for its Monvigliero project (launched in 2017), dedicated to expressing the elegant, floral terroir of the Monvigliero cru in the neighboring commune of Verduno, often described as one of the appellation's most refined "grand cru" style vineyards. The estate follows a traditional Barolo philosophy, favoring long maceration and aging in large Slavonian oak casks to preserve the pure character of Nebbiolo, balancing power and finesse across its single-vineyard bottlings.
