Chichibu Rosé is a dry-style rosé from Usagida Winery (Chichibu Farmers Factory), made primarily from Kyoho, a large-berried table grape grown in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. The wine is fermented with extended skin contact rather than a quick saignée, preserving the grape skin's own aroma and texture. It shows a vivid pink color, an expressive fruity nose, generous fruit character, and gentle acidity — tasting remarkably like biting straight into a ripe Kyoho grape. The label is designed around Chichibu's cherry blossoms.

Sommelier's Note

Skip the imported blush wine — Chichibu Rosé tastes exactly like biting into a ripe Kyoho grape, and that literalness is precisely its charm: it may be Japan's most drinkable, most grape-forward rosé.

New to wine?

A gentle, easy-drinking rosé that tastes like fresh table grapes — a friendly, unintimidating first step into Japanese wine.

Food Pairings

Its bright acidity and fresh grape character work well with sashimi, cold soba, and citrus-dressed salads, and it also suits light Asian dishes with fresh herbs, such as spring rolls or Vietnamese-style salads.

When to drink it

Cherry blossom season picnics, casual gatherings with friends, or as an aperitif before a Japanese meal.
