Tenuta La Batistina is a family-run organic estate in Suvereto, in the heart of the Val di Cornia (Upper Maremma, Tuscany). The Batistini family has farmed the land since the early 1900s, originally for grain, olives, fruit orchards, and vines for personal use. In 2016 sisters Margherita Brogi and Irene Batistini took over the estate from their parents Daniele and Elena, and in 2020 the property was fully converted to organic viticulture. The estate farms roughly 10 hectares planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, alongside Vermentino added from 2020. Its lineup includes the barrique-aged flagship Quantisassi (Suvereto DOCG Cabernet Sauvignon), the Merlot-led Colle ai Venti and Nero del Cornia, and the white Vermentino Colmoio / Colle di Donna. Tenuta La Batistina is a member of the Consorzio Vini Val di Cornia e Suvereto, and its winemaker Irene Batistini has been recognized among Tuscany's notable women in wine.
