Tenuta degli Dei
テヌータ・デリ・デイ
Cavalli family's Bordeaux-style estate in Panzano's Golden Basin.
Tenuta degli Dei is a boutique estate in the hamlet of San Leolino, near Panzano in Chianti, owned by the Cavalli family (fashion designer Roberto Cavalli and his son Tommaso) since the early 1970s. Rather than following the traditional Sangiovese path, the estate planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Alicante on its five hectares, crafting its flagship Bordeaux-style blend, Cavalli, under the guidance of renowned consulting winemaker Carlo Ferrini. The estate also produces Forcole, a Chianti Classico DOCG made from Sangiovese grown on a nearby rented vineyard. A member of the Unione Viticoltori di Panzano, the winery combines low yields and meticulous cellar work to achieve wines of power balanced with elegance, and offers tastings in historic cellars set within the 9th-century Pieve di San Leolino.
