A sweet white wine made from 100% Steuben grapes grown in Tsugaru, Aomori Prefecture — vinified in the blanc de noirs style, pressing the black-skinned Steuben grape without extended skin contact so the juice runs pale. Pale pink-gold in color, it opens with a fragrant, floral bouquet reminiscent of honeyed blossoms and a gentle sweet-tart berry aroma. On the palate, a soft, well-judged sweetness is balanced by Steuben's characteristic gentle tannin and refreshing acidity, giving a light, easy-drinking finish that is friendly to those new to wine or wary of white wine's tartness.

Sommelier's Note

Proof that a black grape can make a great sweet white — Steuben's natural acidity keeps this blanc de noirs honest and refreshing rather than cloying.

New to wine?

A gentle, floral sweet white with soft acidity — an easy first step for anyone new to wine or put off by tart whites.

Food Pairings

Its gentle sweetness and soft tannin make it a natural match for Japanese home cooking built on dashi umami — try it with nikujaga (simmered meat and potatoes), tamago-dofu (egg tofu), or negima-shio yakitori. Outside Japanese cuisine, it pairs beautifully with prosciutto-wrapped cream cheese and avocado.

When to drink it

Everyday dinners with Japanese home cooking, casual gatherings, and as an approachable gift for someone new to wine.
