A dry rosé blending Schönburger, Reichensteiner, and Kitano Yume — Sunmamoru Winery's own proprietary cross of the wild Sankakuzuru vine and Pinot Noir — all grown on the winery's estate vineyard on the Shimokita Peninsula in Mutsu City, Aomori, Japan's northernmost wine-growing region. The color is a bright, ruby-tinged pink. Aromas of wild strawberry, ruby grapefruit, and lychee mingle with a hint of small white flowers and a black-tea-like nuance. Well-balanced fruit and crisp acidity make it a lively, food-friendly rosé that is as pleasing to look at as it is to drink. The 2024 vintage won Gold at the 2026 Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards, and earlier vintages have taken Gold at the London Sake Challenge (wine category) and Silver at the Japan Wine Challenge.
One of the most photogenic rosés coming out of Japan's northernmost wine region — a wild-strawberry nose that punches well above its price.
