About Stellenbosch Vineyards
Stellenbosch Vineyards traces its roots to 1690, when the Welmoed farm in Lynedoch was first granted under the Dutch East India Company. A formal wine cooperative was established there in 1941, and the modern company took shape in 2004 through a merger with Vinfruco, with French group AdVini acquiring a majority stake in 2018. Today the company oversees multiple vineyard sites across the Stellenbosch appellation, producing a portfolio of brands including Welmoed, Arniston Bay, Arniston Bay Infusions, and the innovation-focused Maison Du Cap. Its winemaking is guided by three principles: sourcing excellent fruit, expressing each vineyard's true potential through careful craftsmanship, and releasing only wines that meet strict quality standards. The estate holds Fairtrade, IPW (Integrated Production of Wine), WIETA, and FSSC 22000 certifications, reflecting a long-standing commitment to sustainable and ethical viticulture.
