Biodynamic Riesling icon of Nierstein's red-slate Roter Hang

About St. Antony

St. Antony is a historic VDP estate in Nierstein, Rheinhessen, founded in 1918 with its first vintage in 1920. The winery farms around 40 hectares, much of it on the legendary Roter Hang (Red Slope), a steep red slate and Rotliegend outcrop overlooking the Rhine, and has been certified biodynamic (Demeter) since 2018 alongside organic certification. Its portfolio is anchored by Riesling from VDP.GROSSE LAGE sites including Pettenthal, Hipping, Ölberg, Orbel and the sole-owned Zehnmorgen, complemented by Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch and Pinot Blanc. Under winemaker and managing partner Dirk Würtz, St. Antony crafts powerful, mineral-driven, bone-dry wines that rank among Rheinhessen's most celebrated expressions of terroir.
