Slanghoek Valley co-op famed for award-winning, best-value Chenin Blanc

About Slanghoek Cellar

Founded in 1951, Slanghoek Cellar is a growers' cooperative winery in the Slanghoek Valley, part of South Africa's Breedekloof wine region, roughly 20km from Worcester and 90km from Cape Town. Perched at 800m above sea level and ringed by the Slanghoek Mountains, the estate draws on diverse soils and a cool mountain microclimate farmed by around 25 member growers. Slanghoek is best known for its Chenin Blanc — repeatedly ranked among South Africa's top and best-value examples — alongside a broad range spanning Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage and Merlot reds, the barrel-fermented Legends series, natural sweet Creme de Chenin, sparkling wines, and traditional Cape fortified styles such as Muscadel, Jerepigo and Cape Ruby.
