Sennoyume Winery

千夢ワイナリー

Natural winemaking rooted in Miyagi's Sanriku coast

Sennoyume Winery is an emerging natural wine producer based in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, on Japan's Sanriku coast. Founded in 2021 by winemaker Joichi Yoshida and general manager Miyuki Takahashi, both from Ishinomaki, the project began as a contract-brewing arrangement at Fattoria AL FIORE, a respected winery elsewhere in Miyagi, while the founders cleared and planted their own vineyard on the Oshika Peninsula (Ayukawahama Kurosaki). Working primarily with Delaware and other regional grape varieties, Sennoyume crafts low-intervention natural wines -- including reds, whites, and lightly sparkling styles -- that reflect the maritime terroir of the Sanriku coast. The founders are working toward opening their own winemaking facility in a former school building in Ishinomaki, targeted for around 2025.
