Meunier-rich Champagne from Congy in the Petit Morin valley

About Sébastien Girost

Sébastien Girost is a Champagne grower based in Congy, in the Val du Petit Morin (Coteaux de Morin) between Épernay and the Côte de Sézanne. The family estate dates back to the early 1900s; Sébastien returned to it in 1997 after viticulture studies and began creating his own cuvées in 2002. Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are grown on chalky, clay-limestone soils, and several cuvées are vinified or aged in oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is reportedly blocked to keep the wines fresh.
