プリンツ・ザルム

An 800-year-old VDP estate, organic pioneer of the Nahe since 1988.

About Prinz Salm

Weingut Prinz Salm is one of the oldest continuously family-run wine estates in the world, with documented vineyard ownership by the Salm-Salm family (originally Weierbach) dating back to around 1200 in Wallhausen, Nahe. Now in its 32nd generation under Felix Prinz zu Salm-Salm, who took over from his father Michael (VDP president 1990-2007) in 2017, the estate farms roughly 27 hectares split between the Nahe (Wallhausen) and neighboring Rheinhessen (Bingen am Rhein). A pioneer of organic viticulture in the Nahe since 1988 and certified by Naturland, alongside Fair'n Green sustainability certification, Prinz Salm is a VDP member producing predominantly Riesling alongside Spätburgunder, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder, Scheurebe and Merlot. Its VDP.Grosse Lage sites Scharlachberg and Kirchberg in Bingen, together with the Nahe's Felseneck and Johannisberg vineyards, yield precise, terroir-driven wines on slate, quartzite and Taunus granite soils.
