About Pommery
Pommery is a Champagne house based in Reims, founded in 1836 as Pommery & Greno. Under Madame Louise Pommery, who took over after her husband's death, the house built its estate on the Saint-Nicaise hill from 1868, turning Gallo-Roman chalk quarries into ageing cellars; this site is part of the UNESCO-listed Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars. The house presents itself as the creator of Brut in 1874, a drier style in response to English tastes, and its Champagnes emphasise elegance, delicacy and liveliness over power. Prestige cuvée: Cuvée Louise. The house is owned by the Vranken group.
