Podere Castellinuzza
ポデーレ・カステッリヌッツァ
Family-run Lamole estate crafting terroir-true Sangiovese.
Podere Castellinuzza is a small, family-run estate perched on the hillside of Lamole, in the heart of Chianti Classico near Greve in Chianti. The Coccia family has worked this land since the early 1900s and purchased the property outright in 1962. Today the estate is led by veteran winemaker Paolo Coccia, with over seventy harvests to his name, alongside his daughter Serena and an all-female cellar team. Of the estate's nine hectares, only 3.5 are planted to vine, with the rest given to olive groves and chestnut woods. Each small plot is vinified separately in cement tanks, preserving the fresh acidity, mineral drive and floral aromatics that define wines from Lamole's high-altitude, rocky terraces. Sangiovese, with a small addition of Canaiolo, is farmed under organic principles, with cover crops planted between the rows to support soil health and biodiversity.
