About Mercier

Champagne Mercier was founded in 1858 in Épernay by Eugène Mercier, who aimed to make quality Champagne accessible to as many people as possible and was an early pioneer of Champagne marketing and advertising. The house is famed for its 18 km of cellar tunnels beneath Épernay, which visitors tour by small train, and for the giant barrel built for the 1889 Paris World's Fair. It joined Moët & Chandon in 1970 and has been part of the LVMH group since 1987.
