Nine-generation Flagot valley grower, HVE3 certified

About Mathelin

Champagne Mathelin is a family-run récoltant-manipulant estate based in Cerseuil, a hamlet of Mareuil-le-Port on the left bank of the Marne. The family says it has tended vines here since 1791 (nine generations), and the brand dates to 1960. Brothers Cédric and Aurélien Mathelin farm 13.5 hectares on the slopes of the Flagot valley, a small tributary valley of the Marne, with Meunier, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The estate holds HVE3 certification (since 2014), harvests by hand, and vinifies only its own grapes on the property, using barrels for some cuvées such as L'Orée des chênes. Its range is organised in three lines: Origine, Collector and Premium.
