Manera Fratelli

マネラ・フラテッリ

Boutique Barbaresco from three brothers continuing their grandfather's Langhe legacy.

Manera Fratelli is a small family estate in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a hamlet just 5 km from Alba in Piedmont's Langhe. The Manera family's winemaking roots go back to 1950, when Lorenzo Cesare Manera and his sons Franco and Luciano began cultivating grapes across four historic farmsteads totaling roughly 20 hectares. The estate only began estate-bottling in 2005, once the founder's three grandsons — Gabriele, Carlo and Daniele — completed their studies at the Alba wine school and took over: Gabriele manages the vineyards, Daniele oversees winemaking, and Carlo runs the business and sales side. Working mainly with native Nebbiolo and Barbera, alongside small plantings of Arneis, Moscato and Dolcetto, the brothers blend modern techniques (barrique aging) with traditional methods (large 10-hectoliter Slavonian oak botti) that have changed little since their first vintage. Production remains boutique at around 50,000 bottles a year, with the Barbaresco Rizzi as the estate's flagship wine, prized for its floral, spice-laced elegance.
