Le Lupinaie is a family-run estate in Montiano, a hamlet of Magliano in Toscana (Grosseto), in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma. Founded in 1991 when Aldo Galimberti bought an old farmhouse and its surrounding 25 hectares, the estate sits at roughly 250-300 meters above sea level on clay and medium-textured soils, cooled by breezes from the nearby Tyrrhenian Sea. Sangiovese (locally called Morellino) is the backbone of production, expressed above all in Morellino di Scansano DOCG and its Riserva, alongside Maremma Toscana DOC wines from Ciliegiolo and Vermentino, plus extra virgin olive oil and liqueurs. The estate's Morellino di Scansano has been reviewed by Jancis Robinson, and its Ciliegiolo 'Sole di Notte' was named a top wine in Luca Maroni's Annuario dei Migliori Vini Italiani 2014.
