La Rachilana

ラ・ラキラーナ

Family-run Monforte d'Alba estate crafting sustainable, terroir-driven Barolo.

La Rachilana is a family-run estate in Località San Giuseppe, in the hills of Monforte d'Alba, Piedmont. Founded in 1964 by Bartolomeo and his son Mario, who had worked the vineyards for years as sharecroppers, the winery is now run by third-generation siblings Davide and Daniela Marengo. Across 4 hectares — including holdings in the celebrated Ravera subzone — the estate produces Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Barolo (notably the DOCG 'Clivus'), prioritizing quality over quantity. The winery is a member of 'The Green Experience' sustainability project and farms without herbicides or insecticides, guided by Davide's philosophy that 'nature must take its course.'
