La Fiorita

ラ・フィオリータ

A Roberto Cipresso-founded Montalcino estate now led by Natalie Oliveros, farming organically across four terroirs.

La Fiorita was founded in 1992 in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, Montalcino, by acclaimed winemaker Roberto Cipresso together with a small group of partners. The first vintage, 1993, came from just half a hectare and produced only 1,000 bottles — bought entirely en primeur by the famed Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence. In 2011, American entrepreneur Natalie Oliveros joined the estate and became sole owner by 2014, steering it toward organic viticulture (certified organic in 2019) and building a new two-level, gravity-fed cantina completed in time for the 2019 harvest. The estate now farms roughly nine hectares across four distinct vineyards — La Fiorita, Pian Bossolino, Giardinello and Poggio al Sole — each contributing a different expression of Sangiovese to the estate's exclusively Brunello-focused portfolio (Brunello di Montalcino, Riserva, Rosso di Montalcino and the rosato Ninfalia). Wines are aged in large Slavonian oak casks and French oak tonneaux rather than small barriques, favoring precision and terroir transparency over overt oak influence.
