About Jakob Schneider

Weingut Jakob Schneider is a family-owned estate in Niederhausen an der Nahe, cultivating vines since 1575 and now led by Jakob Schneider Jr., a Geisenheim graduate who trained at Emmerich Knoll in Austria's Wachau. The estate farms roughly 15-18 hectares of predominantly Riesling vineyards on steep, mineral-rich slate and volcanic-rock slopes, including a prized parcel of the legendary Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle as well as Kertz, Klamm, Rosenberg and Rosenheck in Niederhausen and Dellchen and Kirschheck in neighboring Norheim. Active in the Pro Riesling and Generation Riesling growers' associations (though not a VDP member), the estate has drawn wide critical acclaim, including being named 'Winzer des Jahres' (Winery of the Year) in Vinum's 2026 wine guide to the Nahe, and has been represented in the US market by importer Terry Theise for nearly forty years.
