Istine is a boutique organic estate in Radda in Chianti led by Angela Fronti, who studied enology and viticulture at the University of Florence before founding her own label with the 2009 vintage. The Fronti family has farmed in the area since the 1980s, and today Istine cultivates roughly 20 hectares across Radda and Gaiole in Chianti, certified organic since 2016. Angela is best known for her Gran Selezione single-vineyard series — Vigna Istine, Vigna Casanova dell'Aia, and Vigna Cavarchione — each expressing distinct soils, altitudes, and exposures within Radda's cool, high-elevation terroir. The wines are 100% Sangiovese, made with minimal intervention using concrete and large old oak to preserve purity, high acidity, and mineral precision.
