About Hofstraat Wynkelder
Hofstraat Wynkelder (also known as Hofstraat Kelder or Hofstraat Cellar) is a tiny garagiste winery on the Myrtledene smallholding just outside Malmesbury in South Africa's Swartland. Founded by local builder Wim Smit and his wife Karin — who made their first vintage, a Shiraz, in 2000 and officially registered the cellar in 2002 — it produces under 9,000 litres a year of mostly red wine. Its flagship Renosterbos label has won multiple garagiste-wine trophies, including the 2018 Michelangelo Garagiste Trophy for a Renosterbos Nebbiolo. The winery is a member of the Swartland Independent Producers (SIP) and welcomes visitors by appointment at its Myrtledene venue, alongside the Café Myrtledene restaurant.
Who Is This For?
