Founded in 1895 in Neive, Piedmont, by sharecropper Giuseppe Giacosa after he won the Italian national lottery and bought the estate's first vineyard. He farmed alongside his brothers Leone, Constantino, and Giovanni, giving the winery its name, Giacosa Fratelli ('the Giacosa Brothers'). Today the family farms roughly 50 hectares across some of Piedmont's most storied sites, including Barbaresco, Barolo (Monforte d'Alba and Castiglione Falletto, notably the Scarrone cru's south-facing Vigna Mandorlo plot), Roero, and Alba, growing Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Arneis. Winemaking blends time-honored family tradition with modern precision to express authentic Langhe terroir. Important note: Giacosa Fratelli is a completely separate, independently owned company from both Azienda Agricola Falletto di Bruno Giacosa (the celebrated winery of Bruno Giacosa) and Carlo Giacosa of Barbaresco (son of Donato Giacosa, a founding grower of Produttori del Barbaresco). The shared 'Giacosa' surname reflects the shared heritage of the Neive/Barbaresco area, not a common corporate structure.
