About G.H. Mumm

G.H. Mumm is a Champagne house founded in Reims in 1827 by members of the German Mumm family, and today part of the Pernod Ricard group. It is best known for Cordon Rouge, whose diagonal red ribbon has marked the label since 1876. The house draws on a vineyard estate of nearly 218 hectares, including eight grand cru villages (Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Verzy, Verzenay, Mailly, Avize and Cramant), and ages its wines in about 25 kilometres of chalk cellars beneath Reims at 34 rue du Champ de Mars, which are open for visits. Its motto is "Only the best". It is unrelated to the German sparkling wine company Rotkäppchen-Mumm.
