FUN M.B.A Rosé is a rosé made by Funabashi Coq Winery, Chiba's first urban winery, from Muscat Bailey A grapes grown by veteran growers in Shimoina, Nagano Prefecture — the same source vineyards the winery draws on for its Koshu and Black Queen cuvées. Muscat Bailey A is prized for its instantly recognizable candied-strawberry aroma, and a short skin contact here draws out just enough color and light tannin to give the wine gentle structure without masking that signature fruit character. It is a sibling bottling to the winery's red "FUN M.B.A" — same grape and vineyard source, vinified in the rosé style instead. Like the rest of the lineup, it is crafted almost entirely by hand at a winery that avoids loud machinery in its residential setting, and bottled unfiltered in small batches.
Muscat Bailey A's candied, foxy aroma divides opinion among wine purists, but rendered as a light, unfiltered rosé like this one, it becomes exactly the kind of unpretentious, food-friendly wine Funabashi Coq Winery is known for.

An approachable, fruit-forward rosé built around Muscat Bailey A's crowd-pleasing candied aroma — a friendly, low-intimidation way into Japanese wine.
Food Pairings
The candied-fruit character of Muscat Bailey A makes this an easy match for everyday Japanese cooking — try it with yakitori glazed in sweet tare sauce, grilled unagi, or karaage. It also works well chilled alongside light salads and cold tofu.
When to drink it
Casual dinners with Japanese home cooking, yakitori nights, or a light aperitif on a warm evening.
Terroir & Winemaking
Muscat Bailey A sourced from veteran growers in Shimoina, Nagano, trained on traditional overhead trellises. Briefly macerated on the skins to draw a pale rosé hue and light tannin while preserving the variety's aromatic character. Crafted almost entirely by hand at an urban winery that avoids loud machinery due to its residential setting, and bottled unfiltered, so natural sediment or slight haze may be present.
