Founded in October 2015 in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, with backing from the Mitsubishi Corporation Disaster Relief Foundation, Fukushima Ouse Winery was created to support post-earthquake agricultural recovery through sixth-industrialization — uniting the growing, processing, and sale of local fruit under one roof. Around a dozen contracted grower families in the Ose district cultivate Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Bailey A, and Steuben, while winery staff visit the vineyards twice monthly to guide soil management and pest control. The winery bottles its wines under the Vin de Ollage label — a name derived from the local Fukushima dialect word 'orage,' meaning 'our own' — and also produces award-winning ciders, liqueurs, and brandies from Fukushima peaches, pears, and apples. The on-site shop offers tastings and guided tours of the production facility.
