Founded in February 1909 by 33 winegrowers who pooled resources during a period of overproduction and economic hardship, Fruitière Vinicole de Pupillin is one of the oldest wine cooperatives still active in the Jura. Based in Pupillin — celebrated as the 'world capital of Ploussard' — the cooperative today unites around 35 to 40 grower families cultivating roughly 65 hectares of vines. It produces wines across the Arbois-Pupillin, Arbois, and Côtes du Jura appellations, plus Crémant du Jura, Macvin, and vin de paille, using the Jura's signature grapes: Ploussard, Savagnin, Trousseau, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
