Beni Sayaka Cherry Wine is a single-varietal fruit wine from Fruit Winery Esprit (Tendo City, Yamagata), made with roughly 1.2kg of hand-picked, fully ripe Beni Sayaka cherries per 500ml bottle. It pours a deep crimson red and offers floral aromas alongside the elegant sweetness of red fruit, with a semi-sweet, 10% ABV profile that the winery recommends pairing with cream cheese and balsamic vinegar. The cherries are naturally rich in polyphenols including anthocyanins and chlorogenic acid, along with GABA, nicotianamine, and asparagine. An earlier vintage of this wine won bronze in the alcohol category at the FOODEX JAPAN 2019 'Local Food Grand Prix' and was runner-up (alongside the winery's Sato Nishiki cherry wine) in the New Experience/Innovative category of the 2019-2020 Nippon no Takaramono (Japan's Treasures) Grand Prix.
This is one of the purest expressions of Beni Sayaka cherry available in bottle - its floral lift and elegant sweetness make it a standout among Japan's fruit wines.
