Fermier Albariño Seleccion is a rare 370-bottle limited cuvée, made from Albariño grapes hand-selected from the finest parcels of Fermier's own trellis-trained (tana-shitate) vineyard in Niiida, Minami-ku, Niigata City — a plot distinct from the Kakuda-hama coastal vineyard behind Fermier's El Mar and El Volcan bottlings. After a brief roughly 12-hour skin contact, the wine is fermented and aged for about six months entirely in stainless steel tanks, preserving bright citrus aromatics of orange peel and white flowers, crisp acidity, and a long citrus-driven finish. Positioned as approaching the quality of Fermier's flagship El Mar Albariño at a more accessible price, it offers a compelling introduction to the estate's celebrated Albariño lineup.

Sommelier's Note

Don't let the more approachable price fool you — this 370-bottle selection captures much of what makes Fermier's flagship Albariño so compelling, in a leaner, more immediate package.

New to wine?

A great gateway into Fermier's Albariño range — crisp, citrusy, and easy to enjoy, at a friendlier price than the flagship bottlings.

Food Pairings

Its bright acidity and saline-edged minerality pair beautifully with sushi and sashimi, raw or lightly seared white fish, and oysters; also excellent with citrus-dressed salads and light vegetable tempura.

When to drink it

A special-occasion pour for sushi dinners, seafood gatherings, or introducing friends to Japan's emerging Albariño scene.
