Fattoria di Rignana
ファットリア・ディ・リニャーナ
Historic Gericke family estate in Panzano's celebrated Conca d'Oro, organic since 2014.
Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Panzano in Chianti, within the celebrated Conca d'Oro (Golden Basin), Fattoria di Rignana is a historic estate first documented in the 11th century, with vineyard records dating to 1700. Since 1965 it has been owned by the Gericke family, now in its third generation under Cosimo Gericke, who took over management in 1999 and has served as President of the Unione Viticoltori di Panzano since August 2019. The estate covers roughly 120 hectares, of which about 14 are planted to vine — mainly Sangiovese (70-75%) alongside Canaiolo, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc — on stony, calcareous clay soils known locally as Galestro, at 300-400 meters altitude. Certified organic since 2014, Rignana produces Chianti Classico, Riserva, and Gran Selezione alongside IGT, Rosato, Bianco, and an award-winning DOP extra virgin olive oil.
