The winery's name, "Álom," is Hungarian for "dream," reflecting both the inspiration the company drew from Hungary's vineyard landscapes and its own new-business "dream creation" project. Fermentation began in October 2025, and the winery released its first Hokkaido sparkling wine on March 1, 2026, targeting roughly 4,000 bottles in its debut year and 50,000 bottles annually by 2028. Abira's cool climate and wide diurnal temperature swings, likened to Hungary's wine regions, are considered well suited to grape growing.
