BOW! Rouge is Domaine Oyamada's easy-drinking, nouveau-style red from Yamanashi, Japan, crafted primarily from estate-grown Muscat Bailey A with a portion of Cabernet Franc. Bottled as a Vin de Table and released each autumn in limited quantities (the 2025 vintage blends 44% Muscat Bailey A from the Kanizawa parcel, 28% Muscat Bailey A from other parcels, 28% Cabernet Franc, and 2% other vinifera varieties), it is light-bodied with soft, perfumed Muscat Bailey A aromatics, a touch of green freshness and fruit from the Cabernet Franc, and firm acidity that keeps the palate defined and food-friendly. Winemaker Kouki Oyamada farms the fruit across Yamanashi and Nagano and vinifies with minimal intervention. Bottled at 750ml.

Sommelier's Note

A textbook expression of Muscat Bailey A done right — pretty and aromatic, but backed by real acidity rather than sweetness, making it Domaine Oyamada's most approachable red.

New to wine?

A friendly, fruit-forward entry point into Japanese natural wine — light-bodied and best enjoyed lightly chilled soon after release.

Food Pairings

Pairs well with light, savory Japanese dishes — salt-grilled chicken, soy-simmered fish, or vegetable tempura — as well as casual charcuterie and light red-meat plates.

When to drink it

Casual weeknight dinners, izakaya-style spreads, and everyday pairing with Japanese home cooking.

Terroir & Winemaking

The 2025 vintage blends estate-grown Muscat Bailey A (44% from the Kanizawa parcel, 28% from other Yamanashi/Nagano parcels) with 28% Cabernet Franc and 2% other vinifera; some of the Muscat Bailey A is hand-destemmed. In keeping with Domaine Oyamada's house style of ambient-yeast, additive-minimal winemaking, the wine is light-bodied with pronounced acidity. Vin de Table classification, 750ml bottle.
