Domaine Laurent Bannwarth
ドメーヌ・ローラン・バーンワルト
The only French winery producing qvevri-aged white wines, rooted in Alsatian biodynamics.
Domaine Laurent Bannwarth is a family-run estate in Obermorschwihr, Alsace, founded in 1950 by Laurent and Suzanne Bannwarth. Their son Stéphane joined in 1987 and later converted the vineyards to organic (Ecocert-certified since 2004) and biodynamic (Demeter since 2013) farming alongside his sister Régine. Since 2011, Stéphane has pioneered qvevri (Georgian clay vessel) vinification in Alsace — the domaine is the only French winery producing white wines fermented and aged in qvevri, devoting roughly 10% of the harvest to these skin-contact, minimal-intervention cuvées. Winemaking here favors instinct over formula, letting native yeasts and each vintage's character guide the cellar work.
