The name "Kelos" comes from "Nom de Kelos," a phrase in the local Yamagata dialect meaning "please drink it," reflecting the winery's welcoming, food-focused approach. Kelos crafts small-batch wines from grapes grown on old vines and reclaimed terraced plots in Araya, including Muscat Bailey A and Steuben, aiming to make wines that serve as a true partner to the dinner table.
