Domaine Justin Boxler is a family-owned Alsatian estate based in Niedermorschwihr, near Colmar, with roots dating back to 1672, when the Boxler family settled in the village after moving from Switzerland. The estate takes its name from Justin Boxler, who in the 1950s began estate-bottling wines that had previously been sold in bulk; his children Pierre and Anne later expanded the vineyard and modernized the operation in the 1980s-90s. Today the domaine is run by Charlotte and Florent Boxler, cousins representing the family's latest generation, who completed the estate's conversion to organic farming, with 2022 as the first certified organic (AB) vintage after 13 years of transition. The 12-hectare vineyard is spread across five villages (Niedermorschwihr, Turckheim, Katzenthal and Ingersheim among them) and includes parcels in four Alsace Grands Crus, notably Sommerberg (granite, in Niedermorschwihr) and Florimont (limestone-clay, in Ingersheim). Winemaking is traditional and low-intervention: hand-harvested fruit, fermentation with indigenous yeasts, no fining, and aging in traditional foudres. The estate produces the full range of Alsace varietals - Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Muscat, Auxerrois and Sylvaner. Notably, Domaine Justin Boxler is a sister estate to Domaine Albert Boxler, also of Niedermorschwihr: founders Justin and Albert Boxler were brothers who split the family's vineyard holdings, and today's Justin Boxler proprietors are cousins of Jean Boxler, who runs Domaine Albert Boxler.
