Domaine Hubert Meyer
ドメーヌ・ユベール・メイエ
Grand Cru Winzenberg specialist, family-run since 1722
Domaine Hubert Meyer is a family wine estate in the village of Blienschwiller, Alsace, where the Meyer family has passed down winemaking from father to son since 1722. Hubert Meyer took over from his father André in 1976 and built up direct bottle sales; his son Pierre, a graduate of the viticulture and oenology school in Rouffach, joined in 2009 and took over management of the domaine in 2014 as its 10th generation winemaker. The estate now farms roughly 20-23 hectares across Blienschwiller and neighboring communes (Dambach-la-Ville, Nothalten, Epfig), including parcels in the Fronholz lieu-dit and about one hectare in the Winzenberg Grand Cru — the domaine's flagship terroir, a steep, south/south-east-facing granitic slope rich in quartz and mica that gives its Riesling, Pinot Gris, and Gewurztraminer pronounced minerality. The domaine converted to organic farming in 2023. Their range spans the seven classic Alsace varietals (Vins de Tradition), Vins de Prestige including Grand Cru Winzenberg bottlings, and Crémant d'Alsace (Brut, Brut Rosé Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc Rosé). Wines have won gold medals at the Grand Concours des Vins d'Alsace, and the Winzenberg Grand Cru Riesling has scored 94 points from Wine Enthusiast. Visitors can tour the domaine's stone cellar and join guided tastings, often paired with regional buffets.
