Domaine Fernand Engel

ドメーヌ・フェルナン・エンゲル

One of Alsace's largest organic estates, farming 4 Grand Crus since 2001.

Founded in 1949 when Fernand and Elisa Engel settled on a small family farm in Rorschwihr, Domaine Fernand Engel has grown into one of Alsace's largest independent organic estates, now farming over 60 hectares across roughly 150 plots in seven communes. The domaine has been organically farmed since 2001 (Ecocert certified) and also draws on biodynamic practices, with holdings in four Grand Crus — Altenberg de Bergheim, Praelatenberg, Gloeckelberg and Mandelberg. The range spans classic varietal Alsace wines (Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Sylvaner), Grand Cru bottlings and Cremant d'Alsace, and the estate's wines have been repeatedly recognized at the Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards, the Concours National des Cremants and the IWSC.
