About Domaine Emmanuel Barou

Domaine Emmanuel Barou, usually called Domaine Barou, is a family-run organic estate in Charnas, in the northern Ardèche, on the right bank of the northern Rhône. The family moved to organic farming in the early 1970s under Alexis Barou. Emmanuel Barou took over in 1997 and refocused the estate on vines; his wife Marie-Agnès joined in 2006 to handle sales and administration. The estate makes AOP Saint-Joseph and AOP Condrieu, plus IGP Collines Rhodaniennes wines from Syrah, Marsanne and Viognier.
