Seven generations of Zellenberg winemaking since 1785
Established in 1785 in the village of Zellenberg on the Alsace Wine Route, Domaine Edmond Rentz is a family-run independent estate now led by siblings Catherine and Patrick Rentz. The 25-hectare property is spread across roughly 100 parcels in six villages around Zellenberg, Riquewihr, Hunawihr, Ribeauville and Bergheim, allowing the family to cultivate all eleven classic Alsace grape varieties. Fruit from seven prized terroirs, including the Grand Cru Schoenenbourg, Froehn, Sonnenglanz, Grafenreben, Lerchenberg, Rotenberg and Burg, is vinified into around thirty different cuvees spanning dry and off-dry varietal whites, rose, red Pinot Noir, Vendanges Tardives, Selection de Grains Nobles and Cremant d'Alsace. The estate farms under High Environmental Value (HVE) certification and has been certified organic since 2023, and its wines have repeatedly won medals at the Concours des Vignerons Independants and the Concours International de Lyon.
