Historic Jura estate famed for age-worthy Château-Chalon
Domaine Durand-Perron is a historic estate in Voiteur, in the heart of the Jura's Château-Chalon appellation. Founded by Marius Perron after the Second World War, the domaine passed to his son-in-law Jacques Durand in 1987, who renamed it Durand-Perron. Since 2010 it has been part of Domaine de Savagny, a subsidiary of Les Grands Chais de France, while continuing traditional Jura winemaking. The estate holds some of the oldest vines in Château-Chalon and is best known for its Vin Jaune, aged for a minimum of six years and three months under a veil of flor yeast in oak barrels without topping up. It also produces Côtes du Jura white wines from Chardonnay and Savagnin, along with Macvin du Jura and Vin de Paille, a traditional straw wine made from air-dried grapes.
