Family Côte-Rôtie from Ampuis: hand-worked terraces, Syrah, one single cuvée

About Domaine Burgaud

Domaine Burgaud is a family estate in Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation of the northern Rhône. Formerly known under the name of Bernard Burgaud, it is now run by his son Pierre Burgaud. The vines are worked by hand on steep terraces too sharp for machines, across the lieux-dits Le Champin, Leyat, Les Moutonnes, Côte Blonde, Fongeant and La Brosse. The estate focuses on Syrah and makes a single Côte-Rôtie, selecting the best grapes across all its plots rather than bottling separate parcels.
