Avize family estate and a biodynamic pioneer in Champagne
About De Sousa & Fils
De Sousa & Fils is a family-run Champagne estate based in Avize, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The family house dates back to the early 1950s, and Erick de Sousa, who led it for decades, became known as a pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture in Champagne. Old vines are vinified in small oak barrels, giving the wines texture and depth alongside the chalky mineral tension of the Côte des Blancs. After Erick's death in January 2023, the estate continues under his family.
