Damien Coquelet is a rising star in the Beaujolais region, establishing his domaine in 2007 at the age of 19. As the stepson of the renowned natural wine producer Georges Descombes, he was mentored by one of the masters of the region and makes his wines at the Descombes cellar in Villié-Morgon alongside his stepbrother Kevin Descombes. He farms roughly nine hectares on granitic, sandy soils, including about four hectares on the celebrated Côte du Py in Morgon and two hectares in Chiroubles, emphasizing organic farming, hand harvesting, native yeast fermentation, and minimal intervention with little or no added sulfur. His wines are celebrated for their purity, vibrant fruit character, and elegant structure, reflecting the authentic terroir of Beaujolais.
