Château La Rose Bellevue

シャトー・ラ・ローズ・ベルヴュー

Award-winning wine tourism estate on the Gironde estuary, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux

Château La Rose Bellevue is a four-generation family estate spanning 60 hectares in Saint-Palais, perched above the Gironde estuary in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Founded by Jean-Pierre Eymas, the estate was taken over in 1997 by his son Jérôme, who had spent years gaining international winemaking experience in Australia, Chile, Switzerland, and the Rhône Valley (Condrieu and Côte Rôtie). His wife Valérie joined the business in 2001. In 2019, the estate earned the High Environmental Value (HEV) certification and committed 8 hectares to organic farming. Their 'Jardin Secret' wine tourism venue in the heart of the vineyards won a Best of Wine Tourism award in 2009. From clay and limestone soils moderated by the Gironde's maritime influence, the estate crafts expressive red, white, and rosé wines known for their balance, freshness, and authentic sense of place.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Château La Rose Bellevue located, and what appellation is it in?
The estate is in Saint-Palais in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, on the northern right bank of the Gironde estuary. This is a distinct area from Entre-Deux-Mers — a lesser-known but high-quality Bordeaux region shaped by the moderating influence of the estuary.
What grape varieties are used at the estate?
Red wines are primarily Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, sometimes Cabernet Franc. White wines are led by Sauvignon Blanc, complemented by Muscadelle and Chardonnay — all well adapted to the clay and limestone hillsides of Saint-Palais.
Is the estate committed to environmental sustainability?
Yes. In 2019 the estate earned the HEV (High Environmental Value) certification for biodiversity and reduced chemical inputs, and 8 hectares are farmed organically. Jérôme and Valérie Eymas continually work toward more responsible viticulture.
What is 'Le Jardin Secret'?
Literally 'The Secret Garden,' it is a unique wine tourism experience set in the heart of the vineyards where guests can picnic and enjoy the estate's wines surrounded by vines. The venue was recognized with a Best of Wine Tourism award in 2009.
Can you visit the estate for tastings?
Yes. Tastings are available Monday to Friday from 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 6pm without reservation. Cellar visits can be arranged by appointment at 10:30am and 3:30pm on weekdays.
