Cennatoio is a family-run, certified organic estate in Panzano in Chianti, within the Chianti Classico DOCG. Managed since 1970 by Leandro and Gabriella Alessi and today joined by their son Emiliano, the estate fully converted to viticulture in 1985. Its 43-hectare property includes about 10 hectares of vines planted on south-facing, rocky galestro soils ideal for Sangiovese Grosso, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Cennatoio is an active member of the Unione Viticoltori di Panzano, the growers' association promoting the distinctive Conca d'Oro sub-zone. The estate produces Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, a Super Tuscan blend, and the sweet Occhio di Pernice.
