About this wine
The estate's founding wine, produced since 1997 and fully certified organic. A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo, aged 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels followed by at least 6 months in bottle. Aromas of ripe berries and violets lead to a palate of spiced cherry, plum stone, mushroom, and wet earth, with medium body, ripe tannins, and a juicy, spicy finish.

The estate's flagship Gran Selezione, sourced entirely from the 2-hectare Paronza vineyard — one of the property's oldest plots, with vine-growing traces dating back to 1169 and an average vine age of 25 years. 100% Sangiovese, aged 18 months in French oak barriques, then 6 months in 50hl Slavonian oak casks, followed by a minimum of 12 months in bottle. Aromas of black-skinned berry, underbrush, and mocha lead to a palate of dried black cherry, star anise, and espresso, with smooth, finely integrated tannins. James Suckling scored the 2018 vintage 92 points.
